Toby: The Heart Behind Tobsters

Some dogs come into our lives for a season. Others leave a mark that stays with us forever.

Toby was that dog for me.

In 2011, after months of searching through rescue organizations, I met a little scruffy terrier with bright eyes and an even bigger personality. The moment I saw him, I knew he was coming home with me. From that day on, he became my constant companion, my adventure buddy, and my best friend.

Toby loved the simple things in life. Car rides with the windows cracked. Long walks. Exploring new places. Lounging in the sun. Snacks—especially snacks. And if there was an opportunity to curl up beside me, he was there.

Like many pet parents, I found myself constantly searching for products that were well-made, thoughtfully designed, and worthy of the animals we love so much. Over time, that idea grew into something much bigger.

It became Tobsters.

This store exists because of Toby. Every product I choose is selected with the same care I would have taken for him. My goal has never been to simply sell pet products. It's to help create comfortable homes, happy moments, and lasting memories for the pets who become part of our families.

After nearly 15 wonderful years together, we recently said goodbye to Toby. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but it was made with love and with his comfort in mind. He spent his final day surrounded by family, enjoying his favorite things, and reminding us one last time how much joy a dog can bring into a life.

The house feels quieter now. I still catch myself looking for him in his favorite spots, expecting to hear his paws on the floor or see him waiting patiently for a treat.

While Toby may no longer be here physically, his spirit is woven into everything Tobsters represents.

Every order that leaves our store, every new product we introduce, and every rescue organization we support is a tribute to the little dog who inspired it all.
